We start as usual by talking about design and ergonomics, a fundamental topic when we talk about headphones and, more generally, wearables. Let's say that noticing the similarities between these third-generation AirPods and the AirPods Pro is quite simple and at first glance the impression is that it is exactly the same product but with different form-factor. I mean, it's like Apple took the stem and structure of the AirPods Pro and attacked the second generation Airpods headset. Of course, by simplifying the concept a lot, in reality it is certainly not that simple.
The single earpiece is lighter than the Pro model by about one gram. It may seem little, and indeed in absolute value it is, but when worn for several hours consecutively even the details make the difference and this lower weight is all in favor of greater comfort.
On the subject of wearability, I can tell you that my opinion is absolutely positive. I have never been a fan of in-ear headphones; except for a few rare exceptions after a few minutes I am forced to take them off to rest the ear, which has never happened with these third-generation AirPods. In fact, given their lightness and comfort, there have been some situations in which I completely forgot to wear them.
