Today we will try to understand if it is possible to do this and how to proceed to avoid losing imported numbers from the phone book. In reality, as we will explain shortly, it is very difficult today to lose a number registered in the phone book of a smartphone because these devices have by default the saving of contacts on a sort of "cloud", which is periodically synchronized with the phone thanks to the Internet.

Both Android and iOS, the two main mobile operating systems, provide for contact synchronization by default. If, therefore, you have deleted a number on the sim that had been "copied" to the phone and synchronized to your Google or Apple account, you will probably still find it in the address book. If, on the other hand, you had phone numbers registered only on the SIM and you deleted them by mistake or the card broke and is no longer usable, unfortunately there is no longer any possibility of recovering the contacts. Many sites recommend in these cases software for data recovery such as those designed to find deleted files (for example photos, documents, etc ...) but, in the case of numbers present only in the sim, they are ineffective solutions: the memory integrated in the calling card, in fact, is inaccessible through these programs.
3 - Retrieve phone numbers from disabled SIM: is it possible?
Different speech, however, is if the SIM no longer works because it has expired and, therefore, disabled: in this case, even if no longer usable, the contacts recorded in the small memory of the card are not deleted. Just insert the SIM on the phone and open the address book to find all the registered contacts. You can move the numbers from the sim to the phone and synchronize them with your account.
4 - Extra tip: make a backup of your address book
If for some reason you cannot or do not want to take advantage of the synchronization of your smartphone and you prefer to save the numbers in a different way to avoid losing them, you can copy the contacts both on the SIM and on the phone, keeping the automatic synchronization disabled. In this way you will always have the numbers saved twice and you can recover them in case of cancellation made by mistake.
Another backup system, slightly more complex, is to export the phonebook data to a .vcf file: this small document will save all the numbers and you can "reload" it on the phone at any time. To save the address book in .vcf format, simply follow these simple instructions:
In both cases you will be asked where to save the file: choose the space you prefer and confirm the operation. When you want to restore the address book, you can follow the same paths just indicated but choose the "Import" option, instead of "Export", by loading the .vcf generated previously.
If you want to know how to recover the phone numbers deleted from the SIM, then, know that it is not possible: the contacts could be found only if you have saved the address book of the card also on the phone, even better if it is synchronized with your Google or Apple account. There is no way to recover a deleted number from the card that hasn't already been synced or saved in some way before.
