It may have happened to you too that you received a voice message on WhatsApp but were unable to listen to it. This small inconvenience will be resolved shortly. Soon, in fact, the vocals that will be received via WhatsApp will be able to be read as normal text messages.
At the moment we know little, it is an indiscretion revealed via Twitter by WABetaInfo, the independent portal that publishes news and updates via the web before they are official. Apparently there would already be a Beta version that iOS users can obtain on a voluntary basis.
WABetaInfo has anticipated the new feature that would allow the app to compete with its rival Telegram (where it is already possible to activate this function through a bot). The privacy issue is always of greater concern, but, as WABetaInfo assures, the voice messages that will be transcribed "will not be sent to the WhatsApp or Facebook server". The new function, now active in Beta version on iOS devices of your choice, "would in fact be based on Apple's voice recognition system".
One of its superficial functioning - we read on SkyTg24 - is described by WABetaInfo and speaks of a local saving in the WhatsApp database which will avoid repeating the same transcript in case we want to read it in the future. Finally, again according to the site's sources, for the moment there is no news for the Android version.
