Instagram adds a new option that provides a kind of additional control, also in an "anti-hacker" function, to accounts that have deleted a post. The feature is called "Recently Deleted", it allows you to restore or review posts that were previously deleted from your phone.
The company, via the official blog, claims that the novelty will also help protect content from hackers. The reason is simple: the application introduces the need for an additional step before deleting shared posts, with an additional level of security, enabled only by those who actually use the profile.
"We know that hackers sometimes delete content when they gain access to an account and until now people had no way of easily recovering their photos and videos," Instagram explains. With the introduction of this new function, anyone who permanently deletes or restores a post must first verify that they are the legitimate account holder ”.
The photos, videos, reels, IGTV movies and stories that the user deletes are immediately removed from the account and moved to the 'Recently deleted' folder. Deleted stories that are not in the archive will remain in the folder for up to 24 hours. Everything else will be automatically deleted 30 days later. During this period, you can access your content through the Recently deleted function (in the Settings) and from there also decide to republish the post or delete it completely, before the month has passed.
The new feature, both on iPhone and Android, is being released globally, subscribers will be able to view it shortly thanks to an update from the App Store and Play Store.
