It often happens that a Windows 11 update is available but you need to restart the system to install it.If you think it's not the right time to restart the system, you can plan a more convenient moment for the installation of the update.Windows gives you the opportunity to plan the restart within 7 days from the current date. Here's how to configure this setting.
Windows 11: How to plan a restart on Windows Update
When an update is available in Windows 11 (and Windows wants to restart the system to install it), you will see a small Windows Update restart icon in the applications bar at the bottom right near the clock.Just click on the icon that reports two curved curves in the shape of a circle to open the update card. After clicking on the icon, you will see the "Windows Update" card open.(Alternatively you can press "Windows +" to open settings, then click "Windows Update" in the sidebar.)
In the upper part of the card, under the message "Restart requested", click on the writing "Plan the restart".In the tab that opens click on the "Plan a timetable" button and then use the "Choose an hour" menus and "choose one day" to select an hour and a date when you want the restart and update. Then go back a screen, pressing once the arrow back in the upper left corner of the window. So you will see confirmation of the date and time of restart you planned.
If you have the wrong date or time, click "Plan the restart" again and Correggi. If it has been programmed exactly as you wanted, close the settings tab.At the time and date set, Windows 11 will automatically restart and install the update.Keep in mind that you can also temporarily suspend updates up to a week using the "Pise for 1 week" button which is always located in the Windows Update card.
