The possibility of using WhatsApp on up to 4 devices is officially arriving.

The beta version of WhatsApp is available, which allows the use of the service on up to a maximum of four independent devices from the smartphone (in the sense that it does not need to be turned on or connected to the network). Find out how to participate in the test to try the preview feature.

With the multi-device beta, you can use WhatsApp on four connected companion devices at the same time, without your phone necessarily being connected.

Access to the multi-device beta, after being available only to beta-testers – is now available to all users of the app, both iOS and Android.

How WhatsApp multi-device works

The long-awaited feature allows you to use WhatsApp on up to four additional devices simultaneously. Currently, multi-device support requires the WhatsApp app to be installed on the smartphone (which is the main device) which is also the only device capable of protecting messages via end-to-end encryption.

Of the 4 devices that can be connected, one must therefore necessarily be a mobile phone and you will not be able to connect more than one in any case. If you don't use your phone for more than 14 days, connected devices will be automatically disconnected.

Multi-device WhatsApp beta: how to participate

Trying the multi-device functionality was previously only allowed to subscribers to the beta version of WhatsApp (updated to its latest version). Now all users who used WhatsApp can try this function, although it is still in beta phase (therefore subject to any changes and improvements).
