If you own an iPad, iPhone or Mac, you should definitely update your device right away. Why? Because there are brand new patches if you don't want to be hacked.
Today, Apple unexpectedly released iOS 14.7.1 and iPadOS 14.7.1, the latest updates for the company's phones and tablets. The company also released macOS Big Sur 11.5.1, a patch that fixes a minor bug after the release of macOS Big Sur 11.5 last week.
These recent updates address a zero-day vulnerability that Apple claims has seen exploitation by hackers around the world. This vulnerability, CVE-2021-30807, could allow a hacker to execute arbitrary code with kernel privileges, essentially allowing him to hack your device in a very simple way.

According to The Record, although it is not clear who is exploiting this vulnerability, there are several suspects:
“While there is a good chance this" zero-day "could be a new exploit used by the iOS jailbreaking community to root iPhones, it's not even clear if today's zero-day is somehow related to NSO. Group, an Israeli company that sells iPhone hacking tools to governments around the world and which has recently been the focus of a large number of investigative reports that have revealed some of its previous hacking. "
While it's hard to tell who exactly is trying to get their hands on your Apple device, you obviously never wish they could. So, update now!
