The used iPhone market is very prosperous and it is quite easy to sell your device. But before selling the old iPhone, it is necessary to delete all the data that we have saved on the device over time. From photos to videos, to documents downloaded from e-mail, the smartphone has become the secret treasure chest where all the most important moments of our lives are kept. And for this reason, cleaning and backing up the memory before selling the used iPhone is essential. Here are all the steps to take to sell the old iPhone.
Cleaning your smartphone
One of the secrets of the success of selling used iPhones is the pictures we take of the device. If the smartphone is dirty or backlit, users will not trust to buy it and we will find ourselves without funds to buy the new iPhone. You will have to carry out a thorough cleaning of the smartphone: you will have to start from the rear body by removing the dust and making it shiny again. On the front, however, you will have to remove the protective screen if air bubbles have formed. Otherwise you can also leave it: the used iPhone will acquire greater value.
If we also have accessories (covers, secondary chargers, earphones) the same procedure will have to be carried out: clean effectively by removing all dirt.

Back up your data
Before deleting all the images, videos and documents on your smartphone, you need to back up your data. The procedure is very simple and only takes a few minutes. To backup we have two ways: use iTunes or iCloud. The differences are minimal, in both cases once you buy the new iPhone you can import them to the device.
To make backups with iTunes, connect the iPhone to the computer, press the smartphone icon in the program and then click on "Backup now". When the procedure is finished, the backup will be saved on the computer and can be restored automatically.
If you don't want to use your PC, the alternative is iCloud. In this case, just enter the Settings of the iPhone you want to sell, activate the backup function and then click on "Backup now".

Delete all services connected to the iPhone used
Through the smartphone we connect to all our social accounts, e-mail addresses and applications. Logically, to access personal profiles, we save the password on the smartphone: if we want to sell the device, it is necessary to delete all the access keys present in the device's memory. Otherwise, the buyer could decide to sell the passwords on the smartphone within the dark web.
Another tip to follow before selling your old iPhone is to turn off the Find My iPhone feature. Otherwise, those who buy the used iPhone will not be able to use it. To do this, just enter the Settings, press on Apple ID, then on iCloud and finally deactivate Find my iPhone.
Reset to factory settings
If we think we have saved all the data and have disabled access to all social networks, we can move on to the final stage: erase everything from the used iPhone and bring it back to the factory settings. Also in this case you have two possibilities: directly from your smartphone or using iTunes.
If we don't want to connect the iPhone to the computer, we can enter the Settings, press on General and then on Restore. From the tab that will open you will have to choose "Initialize content and settings".
From iTunes, however, the procedure is much simpler: just click on Restore iPhone.

After completing all the procedure to delete the files, we can finally put the used iPhone up for sale. But at what price? The value of a used iPhone varies by model type. Logically for older ones (iPhone 5, for example) the sale price is very low, while for the latest models (iPhone 7) it can even exceed 500 euros.

Let's start with a model that came out many years ago: the iPhone 5. The price of the used iPhone 5 varies depending on the storage space. For the 16GB model, it ranges from a minimum of 100 euros to a maximum of 120 euros. For the 32GB model the price goes up and can reach up to 150 euros. For the used 64GB iPhone 5 the price varies from 160 to 170 euros, but it is also possible to find it for less.
Used iPhone 5c price
The iPhone 5c has the same characteristics as the iPhone 5 with the only difference being that the body is made of plastic. Logically the price is lower than the model seen previously: for the 8GB version you can spend even less than 100 euros. For the 16GB iPhone 5c the price is slightly higher and varies between 95 and 115 euros. For the 32GB version the price is decidedly higher and can exceed 150 euros.
Used iPhone 5s price
The iPhone 5s was the first to support Touch ID and has better features than previously seen models. And of course the price is higher. To buy a used 16 GB iPhone 5s you need to shell out an amount that varies between 150 and 180 euros. The 32GB model hardly falls below 200 euros and can be found on sale between 210 and 230 euros. The 64G iPhone 5c is on sale for at least 250 euros.

Although a few years have now passed since the release of the iPhone 6, it is still a fairly current smartphone that guarantees good performance. The used 16 GB iPhone 6 can be put on sale at a price of around 250 euros, while for the 32GB version the price can be increased up to 300 euros. The used 64GB iPhone 6 has a slightly higher cost and varies between 350 and 370 euros. For the 128GB version, the price is well over 400 euros.
Used iPhone 6 Plus price
The iPhone 6 Plus was the first to feature a large screen. The characteristics are identical to the iPhone 6, but due to the display the price is higher. The used 16GB iPhone 6 Plus is on the market at a price that varies between 280 and 300 euros. For the 64GB version the price exceeds 400 euros. For those who want the 128GB version, the price goes up to over 450 euros.
Used iPhone 6s price
An enhanced version of the previous model that integrates 3D Touch, the 16GB used iPhone 6s can be put on sale at a price between 300 and 320 euros. The 32GB version costs just under 400 euros. For the 64GB model, however, the reference price is 450 euros. For the used 128GB iPhone 6s, on the other hand, it is necessary to spend almost 500 euros.

For the iPhone 6s Plus, the prices go up slightly, due to the larger screen. For the 16GB model the starting price is 350 euros. The 64GB model can also be put on sale for 500 euros. For the used 128GB iPhone 6s the price exceeds 550 euros.

The price of used iPhone 7 is still very high. For the basic 32GB model, the price varies between 420 and 500 euros. For the 128GB version the price rises up to 600-650 euros. For the used 256GB iPhone 7, the price cannot be less than 700-750 euros.

The iPhone 7 Plus is the first Apple smartphone with a dual rear camera. The 32GB model can be sold for around 550 euros, while the 128GB version costs around 670 euros. For the used 256GB iPhone 7 Plus the price exceeds 750 euros.
