Once upon a time there was writing, then the voice messages arrived. The messaging apps have now set up the use of the voice as an alternative to the text, many users use the vowels, as many suffer them passively (trusting at least not to come across the interlocutors that are too worn out). The WhatsApp team seems to be aware that someone could prefer dear old writing, so it is developing a function that will allow you to transcribe the voice message.
Interesting details in this regard were shared by Wabetainfo, which testifies to how the popular messaging app is oriented to make their own a solution that even third parties have started to offer (see Transcriber for WhatsApp, available for Android). The first details emerged from the iOS version of WhatsApp - but the novelty will also arrive in the future on Android. The screen shown below refers to the possibility to activate the vocal recognition to obtain the translation into text. There are other noteworthy details:
The transcription is optional and which requires an explicit permission to be activated. After granting it, we move on to the real section of the transcription (see second image at the top right). After transcribing a voice message for the first time, the text is saved locally in the WhatsApp database, so you don't need to carry out the operation again if you want to see it later.
The function - not yet active in the test versions - will be made available with a future beta version of WhatsApp, according to timing to be defined. The arrival of another useful feature is more certain and defined: in a few weeks the encrypted backups will come, Zuckerberg himself confirmed it at the end of last week.
