August 6 is approaching, the date on which the Green Pass will become necessary for access to several indoor venues. Not only bars and restaurants, but also various places of culture, entertainment and sport.
To access it will not be enough to be in possession of the Green Pass, but it will be necessary to show it at the time of entry. Printing it can undoubtedly represent a possible solution, but it can be impractical and comfortable. There is a risk of forgetting it at home, the sheet being damaged and illegible or lost (with the risk of allowing others to access your sensitive data).
The smartphone solution is more comfortable and less likely to remain without the Green Pass. Available both to those who own an iPhone, therefore with an iOS operating system, and for Android users. For both, it is possible to first download the IO app, where you can directly receive the certification. Alternatively, it can be downloaded from the Government website.
Those who have downloaded it from the site or even those who have installed the IO app and are afraid of being offline at the time of showing the certification, can opt for this simple solution. Save the file on your device, assigning it to a specific folder - better if only the Green Pass is inside it - to speed up opening.
Another solution is to take a screenshot of the QR Code and save the photo in the image gallery of your device. A tip: to prevent it from getting lost among selfies, photos of friends, relatives or anything else, it is useful to create a special photo album, so as to find it more quickly if necessary.
IPhone owners may want to use their Apple Wallet for quick access to certification. In the next few weeks, the interaction between the IO app and the Wallet should arrive, thus allowing you to save the pass directly in the application of your iPhone. At the moment this tool is still under construction, so those who want it will have to rely on sites such as CovidPass, which will perform the conversion into the format suitable for uploading to the Wallet.
There are also significant delays for Android devices, with Google activating the ability to quickly recall the pass as happens with the use of Google Pay (an application that will not be necessary, is only an example). Currently the start of this plan concerns only the USA, while it has not been specified if and when the initiative will reach Italy.
Where it will be necessary to present the Green Pass
The obligation of the Green Pass will start as mentioned on 6 August. It will be in force for several indoor locations, while outdoors it can be accessed even without certification. This is especially valid for bars and restaurants: inside you will need the Green Pass, outside you will not.
But where will the Green Pass be presented? Here is the list of places:
