It was released this week but is not yet officially available on Pixels. It will arrive on the other smartphones of rival brands in the coming months. According to a first roadmap leaked on the net, Samsung, OnePlus, OPPO, Realme and Vivo smartphones by 2021. Meanwhile Android 12 is a problem for many Xiaomi mobiles. A problem so obvious as not to update the new operating system.
In fact, after the release of Android 12, more and more smartphone manufacturers are rushing to provide their latest software to users. Not always with full success: the owners of smartphones of the Xiaomi Mi 11 series risk turning their mobile phone into a beautiful glossy paperweight by installing the MIUI update.
Xiaomi has released the latest MIUI 12.5.1 versions already based on Android 12, for some time now. Initially these were beta versions, which by definition could contain bugs, but now the manufacturer has begun to distribute the global stable version, albeit also aimed at a still closed group of testers participating in the Mi Pilot program.
New Xiaomi software completely blocks devices
Their experience suggests that the final distribution of MIUI in the global version will not happen very soon. In fact, the new Xiaomi software completely blocks devices: smartphones become completely useless, they cannot be started. The problem affects Xiaomi Mi 11, Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro and Xiaomi Mi 11i smartphones, and the unfortunate software has the markings V12.5.1.0.SKBMIXM, V12.5.1.0.SKKMIXM and V12.5.1.0.SKAMIXM.

The problem was first noticed on the Xiaomiui channel, in Telegram instant messaging, which is very popular these days. As GizChina suggests, the only way to reset a locked phone is to visit the Chinese manufacturer's website, still first after a fabulous semester in the field of worldwide distribution. Fortunately, this shouldn't be a hardware failure.

Also according to GizChina this situation would not be surprising and in the case of software aimed at a small group of testers, it would be part of the calculated risk. This is not the first case of Xiaomi enveloped by this problem, however temporary: for example, in 2019, the owners of Redmi Note 8 Pro encountered similar problems that, after Xiaomi's encouragement, they tried to flash mobile phones from a PC.
Xiaomi reassures that the problem concerns the trial version, not yet released to the public, therefore that the software has been sent to a small group of about 200 people for each smartphone model. So there is no fear that this is a threat that other Xiaomi users should fear: they should receive the MIUI update without such problems, thoroughly tested by volunteers, those offered in the Mi Pilot program. For now, however, please wait.
