HomeNewsAndroid 12: five functions that already existed for Samsung devices
Android 12 is the best update released by Google, although some features are nothing new for those who use Samsung devices.
From Rosalba Varegliano -Android 12 is the biggest update ever released by Google. However, what may seem so innovative to some users is even something that has already been seen for others. For better or for worse, Samsung has always packed its devices with features and many of these features are now part of Android 12.
Scroll screens
Android 12 has finally added scrolling screenshots, something that pretty much every other OEM has had for years. While it's an old feature for many, Google has managed to do it better than anyone else. The function is the same as we find on Samsung devices, however it is much more immediate.
Dynamic themes
One of the standout features of Android 12 is Material You and its ability to pick up and combine colors from the background and apps for greater device customization. With Samsung it is possible to do this as early as 2019. Compared to Samsung, Google has made the function highly customizable manually, it is possible to take care of every detail to create a custom theme for our device.
Finder
S Finder, now known as Finder, lets you search apps, settings, contacts, and more right from the app drawer. Google has added the same functionality to Android 12 and it works the same way, with one advantage: you can turn some settings on and off, like Wi-Fi.
One-handed mode
Samsung was the company that started the mass phone trend, so it's no surprise that it was Samsung who introduced one-handed mode in the Galaxy Note3 in 2013. As phones have gotten even bigger, this one. function has become a must. Sadly, the one-handed mode seen in Android 12 isn't as good as that available with Samsung's One UI. In this case, it is Samsung that has done a great job, compared to Google.
Power button
When Samsung combined Bixby with the Galaxy S20 series power button, people were not happy. Holding the power button to shut down or restart your phone has always been like this since the dawn of time. Google decided to follow suit in Android 12, adding the ability to activate Google Assistant with a long press of the power button.
The only way to shut down or restart the phone with this option enabled is to turn down the quick settings and look for the power button on the screen. Fortunately, both Samsung and Google allow you to disable it.
