Android laundered by 7 viruses that compromise everyone's security
A study conducted by the Pradeo team gave a lethal fingerprint to the infamous Joker virus still active for Google store apps. In particular, today's Source refers to the re-evaluation of the apps: Color Message, Safety AppLock, Convenient Scanner 2, Push Message-Texting & SMS, Emoji Wallpaper, Separate Doc Scanner and Fingertip GameBox.
The first of the aforementioned applications has been downloaded 500,000 times, contributing to a meticulous diffusion also in Italy. Researchers confirm the strange behavior of software in simulating clicks and intercepting SMS in order to set up expensive subscriptions. The lines of code are minimal and difficult to intercept by analysts who struggle to find it. The safety filters do not work with the last two years which have served as a heavy warning to its danger.
Speaking of Color Message, analysts have discovered and highlighted its presence on some Russian servers. The app was promptly removed from the Android store but screenshots from the Pradeo team once again demonstrated how widely spread via alternative channels. It is an app that makes SMS more pleasant but which is configured as a lethal weapon in the sheath of hackers.
