They are intelligent devices that, depending on the technology they are equipped with, allow you to find lost objects in various ways. There are different types and prices; to follow some ideas to consider.

Tile

It is undoubtedly the best known of the category, a tracker produced in various sizes (Pro, Mate, Slim and Sticker), but with very similar functionality and purposes.

It is a device equipped with Bluetooth which, by connecting to the companion app for Android and iPhone smartphones, and physically to keys or any other object, rings when necessary: by pressing "Find" from the phone, or by double-pressing the Tile for a reverse search of your smartphone.

What if the lost keys are out of reach? The application shows on the map the place where the object was detected via Bluetooth for the last time.

From a historical product we move on to something more recent: Samsung Galaxy SmartTag, the locator that the South Korean manufacturer has just presented alongside the Galaxy S21 smartphone family.

Also equipped with Bluetooth (version 5.0 Low Energy), through the SmartThings Find function it allows you to find the keys or any object to which it is fixed for a maximum range of 120 meters, depending on the environment.

The reverse search, that is of the smartphone to which it is connected, also in this case passes through a button that activates the telephone ringtone. If the tagged object is out of range, Galaxy devices can find its location data via the Galaxy Find network.

Samsung Galaxy SmartTag costs 34.90 euros; to buy it, or for more information, this is the link to the official website.

Chipolo

Chipolo is another famous device that is right for us, a small Bluetooth locator with apps for Android and iPhone smartphones, also compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant voice assistants.

If you are within the range of Bluetooth, it works just like the other two devices mentioned: the user can make the phone ring the lost object to which it is hooked, or vice versa search for the phone by activating the ringtone from Chipolo with a double press.

Otherwise, the user can still keep track of the last location where the lost item was detected by the app and mark it as “lost”. Thus, in case other Chipolo users find it, the owner will be notified by notification of the updated location.

It works like this: each of the receivers is distinguished by different colors, colors that we find in the main locator in dedicated keys which, when pressed, make individual objects ring, connected via radio frequencies within a maximum range of 30 meters.
