The need to protect the personal data kept in our smartphones from indiscreet looks often pushes us to adopt passwords, pins or patterns that allow access to the device only to the legitimate owner.In this guide we will show you how to unlock an Android device in the unfortunate case in which you no longer remember the password you have set.
Whatever the type of block used and whatever the cause that prompted you to forget the access code, there are several procedures that in most cases can solve the "forgotten password problem".In this guide they are exposed in order of simplicity: in the event that a proposed solution does not work, therefore, we recommend moving on to the next.
Change the phone code
This is the simplest procedure to follow, which unfortunately only works on some older models (Android 4.4 or previous) and needs an active data connection on the device.Here are the steps:
- Inserire per cinque volte un codice o una sequenza errati;
- apparirà la scritta “Riprova tra 30 secondi”, attendere;
- tap su “Password dimenticata” (nel caso in cui questa scritta non appaia andare al metodo successivo);
- inserire i dati dell’account Gmail collegato al device e la relativa password;
- scegliere un nuovo pattern o una nuova password.
Use Lockscreen Security Bypass
In the event that you have already installed a Custom Recovery on your device you can try to use the "Lockscreen_Security_byPass.zip" package (here the link to the download).Since it is a modding operation, however, it is not risk without risk and the result is not guaranteed (especially on the most recent models).
Important: the procedure described in this guide presents complex operations which, if performed incorrectly, could damage your device.It is recommended to execute only by users who have gained good experience in the modding field.Gizblog.it staff will not be responsible for any damage to the device or data loss.
Here are the steps of the procedure:
- Copiare il pacchetto zip sul device;
- spegnere il dispositivo e riavviarlo in recovery;
- tap su “Installa”;
- selezionare il pacchetto LockScreen_Security_bypass.zip e dare uno swipe;
- riavviare il device.
Change password remotely
Google offered for some time the opportunity to use the Android Device Manager web page to change the set password, but unfortunately this procedure is no longer available today.In the event that the manufacturer of your smartphone has foreseen something similar (this is the case of Samsung Find My Mobile) you can still try this route, as long as you have recorded the phone on the manufacturer's website and that you remember the related data ofaccess.
Format the device
In the event that the methods described so far do not work we will have to resign ourselves to the need to format the device and consequently lose all the data contained in it.If the device is on and connected to the network we recommend using Google's "Find My Device":
- Andare a questo link;
- accedere con l’account Google a cui è collegato il dispositivo da sbloccare;
- selezionare il device in alto a sinistra;
- click su cancella;
- seguire la procedura e procedere con la configurazione del telefono;
- quando richiesto inserire l’account Google e la password già utilizzati in precedenza.
In the event that the device is not connected to the network, however, you will have to make a manual format:
- Riavviare lo smartphone Android in recovery (spesso è sufficiente premere i tasti power e Volume + per una decina di secondi da telefono spento, ma la procedura varia a seconda del brand);
- utilizzare il bilanciere del volume per selezionare “Factory reset”;
- avviare il reset e attendere il riavvio del device;
- eseguire la configurazione, molto probabilmente il Factory Reset Protection sarà attivo e dovrete fare accesso allo stesso account Google utilizzato prima della formattazione.
