Among the innovations presented by Apple at this week's event (along with the new colored iMacs and iPad Pro with M1), AirTag is a useful accessory to keep track of the location of anything: a bunch of keys, a backpack, a suitcase. In short, a tracker. What if you lose it?
AirTag: Lost Mode detectable by Android
From the official website of the bitten apple we read that it works by sending a secure Bluetooth signal that can be detected by the closest Find My network devices
. All in anonymous and encrypted form. It is based on the use of Bluetooth for proximity localization, on the U1 chip for ultra wideband and precise positioning, on NFC technology for Lost Mode.
What was not disclosed during the keynote is that just when it is in Lost Mode, which can be activated when it is no longer found, the device can be detected by any Android or iOS smartphone, the only requirement is the presence of the NFC chip.
Pre-orders for Apple AirTag will kick off tomorrow, April 23rd. You can buy one for 35 euros or a pack of four for 119 euros.
