However, as of March 31st, file synchronization will no longer be possible and Samsung Cloud will remain active only to synchronize contacts. Samsung has in fact signed an agreement with Microsoft which, in fact, will take over the provision of the service through its Microsoft OneDrive . But this does not mean that moving files from Samsung Cloud to Microsoft OneDrive will be automatic: on the contrary, it will be the user who will have to do it and this will only be possible until March 31st while there will be time until June 30th to download them on a computer. In practice, therefore, there are two possible ways to save photos, videos and files present on Samsung Cloud today: one valid until March 31, the other from April 1 to June 30.

Samsung Cloud: what to do by March 31st

Those who arrive on time by March 31st can take advantage of the automatic migration procedure from Samsung Cloud to Microsoft OneDrive. This procedure will allow you to move photos, videos and files synchronized with Samsung Cloud directly to OneDrive.

To take advantage of this procedure, the user must open the Samsung Cloud app and then open the More menu> Settings> Connect with OneDrive. Then he will have to open the Gallery and choose More> Settings> Cloud Sync or Switch to One Drive. Finally, he will have to open the Archive app and choose More> Settings> Switch to OneDrive.

At the end of these three steps all files will be moved to a OneDrive account and all subsequent ones will be automatically. Like all cloud procedures, however, it will take some time which can be quite long if the material to be moved is a lot.

Samsung Cloud: what to do by June 30th

In case the user does not have time to move files from Samsung Cloud to Microsoft OneDrive he will still have a few months to perform the second procedure . A time during which the synchronization will no longer be active, but the files will not be deleted.

This procedure involves switching from a computer, which will act as a bridge to the new cloud service (which may not be Microsoft OneDrive, if the user prefers to use another service). In this case you will have to connect the smartphone to the computer via USB or Bluetooth, open the Samsung Cloud app and choose Download data.

Then you will have to open the Gallery app and choose More> Settings> Download content from the cloud. In this case, the data transfer will be much faster, but it will then be necessary to take an additional step to upload the data to the new cloud service chosen.
