According to the latest leaks, Samsung Galaxy S22 ultra will be a great photo smartphone. Unfortunately, however, the phone could prove extremely hardware deficient, especially if the latest Samsung Galaxy S22 ultra benchmarks leaked online were to be confirmed when the phone comes out on the market.
In fact, in December we could already see the results of a first Samsung Galaxy S22 ultra benchmark, which seemed anything but impressive: last month, however, we blamed the poor result on the fact that the tested model could be a Samsung Galaxy S22 ultra prototype, whose performance would improve with the official release of the phone.
Today, on the other hand, Samsung Galaxy S22 ultra's new benchmarks show results that are completely comparable to the previous test, where the device had recorded 1219 points in single-core and 3154 in multi-core. The results of the two new benchmarks, one dating back to 29 December and one on 4 January, are as follows:
The tests, all carried out on GeekBench 5, Don't seem to show much difference from the benchmark at the beginning of December, which might be enough to convince us that we are facing the ultimate performance of Samsung Galaxy S22 ultra.
Another peculiarity is that the two benchmarks of 29 December and 4 January were executed on devices equipped with different chipsets, that is, on a S22 ultra equipped with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and on the same smartphone with SOC Exynos 2200: this, in addition to confirming the poor potential of the Exynos 2200 chipsets, also seems to show that the new Qualcomm SOC will not be optimized for Samsung's new flagship.
However, the benchmarks were made using the "basic" model of Galaxy S22 ultra, the one with 8 GB of RAM: the results are likely to improve if the phone variants with 10 and 12 GB of RAM are tested, which could record significantly higher scores.
