Google has been working on the call recording feature on the Google Phone app for some time now. The latter, obviously initially available only on Google Pixels, has also started to appear on some Nokia smartphones in recent months and it seems that several Xiaomi users are declaring the arrival of the feature on some smartphones of the Chinese company.
Call recording on Google Telephone
The Xiaomi smartphone models marketed in China and other countries have the proprietary application for managing calls, while the terminals marketed abroad see instead the presence of Google Telephone coupled with Google Messages.
Users who are noticing the availability of call recording on Xiaomi smartphones are precisely those who have the application developed by Google out-of-box. For now it seems that the only models affected are Redmi Note 8 Pro, Redmi Note 9S and Redmi Note 9 Pro, but it is reasonable to assume that the feature will soon also be activated on other devices.
It is not yet clear whether call recording via Google Telephone is linked to any particular update of the app or a simple server-side update, but perhaps you can immediately check if the function is also available on your smartphones.
