One of the most loved Samsung phones will never be made again

Samsung's summer was decidedly hot and profitable for fans of the Korean manufacturer, who saw the arrival of the new generation of "foldable", with Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 and Galaxy Z Flip3, the new Galaxy Watch4 smartwatch and the new Samsung Galaxy Buds2 headphones. To complete the range of Samsung 2021 products, only two models are missing: the Galaxy S21 Fan Edition and the Galaxy Note21 with the S-Pen stylus.

And here comes the bad news: while the Galaxy S21 FE will certainly arrive, most likely to coincide with the "back to school", of the Note21 there is still no official news. And, most likely, there will never be because the rumors that speak of a definitive cancellation of the Note series, which would be replaced by the Z Fold one, are more and more insistent. It has been talked about for months, but Samsung has never confirmed or denied. The compatibility of the new Galaxy Z Fold3 with the stylus (a particular stylus, however, which does not damage the screen) is the first strong clue in this direction, while a video published by Samsung Korea and then removed from the Web is perhaps a true and proper to this theory.

The video on the Galaxy NoteZ

The device that Samsung sells on the international market under the trade name of Galaxy Z Fold3 in South Korea, home of the electronics giant, are sold as "NoteZ".

On August 18, a video entitled "[Galaxy Z Fold3] NoteZ Unboxing" appeared on the YouTube channel of Samsung Korea: it is a parody in which a Korean actor is disguised as Bob Ross, a deceased American painter known in the ' 80 for the TV program “The Joy of Painting“. Fake Bob Ross is seated in front of a kickstand holding a Galaxy Z Fold3 / NoteZ.

In the video, the actor shows all the functions of the new stylus useful for painting and taking notes on the folding device, as well as the various ways in which the Z Fold3 can be used to enjoy multimedia content and to browse the Internet.

This video was shared on Twitter by well-known leaker Tron (@FrontTron) on August 19, accompanied by a short text: “I'm sorry for the Note fans, the Galaxy Note is dead. There will be no more classic shaped Note series products. Instead Samsung now calls the Z Fold3 NoteZ “.

Shortly thereafter, Samsung Korea removed the video from YouTube, disabling comments and enabling suspects.

Goodbye Galaxy Note

This story is just the latest clue to the cancellation of the Galaxy Note series which, on the other hand, no longer makes much sense to exist despite the gutted love of the fans. The Notes were born as "phablet" devices, a cross between "phone" and "tablet", and were characterized by two things: the larger size than the corresponding Galaxy S and the stylus .

Smartphones today are so large that the only way to offer an even more generous screen, without making the phone impossible to carry with you in your pocket or bag, is to adopt the foldable form factor. It's unofficial and Samsung continues to keep quiet, but the Note series is dead with the Galaxy Z Fold3, aka NoteZ.
